Something about the axe-god Jin Kai-jia and "a thorn in the flesh".
Feel free to comment.
That was a great strategy by Ma Feng, both the deliberate opening and the serious but not immediately fatal wound on Jia Kai Jia. I like this character, too bad he passed away so soon.
Chapter 4 Part 4 is posted
It's a long part...
So we know what Shuang Shuang's outward appearance is.
But do we really know her?
Now we do! This is fiction... but the kind of spirit Shuang Shuang displayed is something I aspire towards.
Man is glue. You are man. How then can you step away from glue?
This story never ceases to surprise me. It was Shuang Shuang who cheered the others up instead of vice-versa.
Feng-Wu is heading back to the Peacock Village, this part should be very interesting. I liked the part where Yu Peiyu visited the Tang village of secret weapons in the Sword and the Exquisiteness.
I have the feeling that, in terms of martial arts skills, the elites of the Peacock Village are superior to the Tang family during Yu Peiyu's time. The Peacock Village has a big mysterious aura around it, kinda like Murder Manor in The Sword and the Exquisiteness, but more honorable.
Chapter 4 Part 5 is halfway done.
Gao Li and Shuang Shuang have moved away, but there's a new threat!
hehe there are always some tasty food descriptions in all of Gu Long's novels. 2 years of peace, that's pretty good. Gao Li must be using his high martial arts to farm as well as several men combined. That's a lot of meat
It seems that this and other Gu Long stories are heavily influenced by his real life. Like Yeongwee said, this is fiction but some characters have very inspiring attitudes. The psychology of the characters seem very realistic to me.
Chapter 4 is completed.
Who is the new threat?
How will Gao Li and Shuang Shuang react to it?
I really like this part, as it attests to the fact that martial artists must continue to practice assiduously in order to improve. There was another such reference in the Sword and the Exquisiteness where Yu Peiyu's mother in law was overtook in terms of martial arts skills because she spent many years tending to her family instead of training.Gao Li nearly stopped breathing. He suddenly discovered that he had less assurance than what he imagined. These two years, he toiled with the hoe and not with his spears.
Yu Peiyu married miss Zhu, who is the daughter of Lady Zhu, mistress of the Palace of Enchantment.

Thanks for all the comments.
I agree that there are lots of aspects in this novel that touch the more 'realistic' side of wuxia. Training, escaping, fear, work vs. fight, disability, etc.
Chapter 5 part 1 is completed.

Ma Feng is very cautious even with his eating habits. We can see why he is a successful assassin.
Sorry guys, a couple of issues prevented me from posting.
I just move to a different city 600 miles away.
The other thing, I had some load issue with the freehostia webhost.
So, pls be patient.
Thanks
New town? Have fun there
Take your time, even if you take a year or more off you deserve it. Your dedication these past years has been amazing.
Ok. Some part of Chapter 5 part 2 is posted.
Gao Li had really changed...
Note: Sometimes, the website is unaccessible, because the whole webhost domain (freehostia) seems to have some issues. When that happens, just be patient, and wait for some other time to access the website.
Woot fastclock is back
Thanks for the update.
