thythy, thanks for posting all the lovely pictures of Amy Chan. I am also a huge fan of her since the 80s. Her first series I've watched is when she is still with TVB "It Runs In The Family" starring Sean Lau & Stephen Chow.

But my favorite couple is when she paired with Steve Ma (I'm sure you knew that already)

Hi thythy! I don't get into the forum everyday, only when I have the time. I saw It Runs In A Family long time ago and I would like to re-watch it. I've forgot almost 90% of this series. I think it is about a love traingle between Amy, Sean & Stephan. It is a comedy series and Amy looked like a teenager.

Hey all fellow Amy fans! I recently knew there was an Amy Chan thread. Anyways, I've always loved her acting. I remember seeing her in a very old series. She was 16, I believe and she co-starred with that old guy she was paired up with in TVB series, "Fate of the Clairvoyant"

I remember Amy got her nickname as housewife from that series. I rather her go with Kenneth than with that old guy! Gosh he cheated on her and the character she plays still loves her husband! Can you imagine?!?!?!

Anyways my comments to a few posts...

She was also in "Fated Love" w/ Steve Ma.... Is "Love in a Miracle" another name for this series or is it her new one? Anyone knows what its about?
I really enjoy her acting.. It seems like that through watever role she plays she can bring out the 'realness' in that role. Hope that she would return back to her acting careear.. I've really missed seeing her onscreen.

Fated Love and Love in a Miracle are to totally different ATV series. However I think they were both written by the same guy. I heard that somewhere (can't remember where). Anywasy I did not know she retired. I thought she is still very active in ATV, China and Taiwan series. Which report or interview said she has retired?

..its crazy that ATV (not that i watch the channel) but hear that she plays a 20 ish year woman... so unreal

Who the heck would want her to return to TVB? That dam hell hole that produces crappy movie and promotes look over talent! Forget it. I rather she not go to TVB. It's a horrible company that treats it's good artists like crap yet promotes the untalented.

My favorite series of Amy when she was with TVB would probably be "The racing Peak" with Felix Wong Wat Yah. I loved her role. She was so imperfect and that made her so real.

I don't think it's od she plays a 20 something woman. She's an actress. A littl emake up can go a long way. Anyways Amy still looks very young.

I heard when Steve & Amy were acting in The Good Old Days, they had some conflicts with each other and they can't get along. The producers were worried that they can't finish taping TGOD due to both of them don't talk to each other except on-screen.

Maybe as they acted togehter more, Steve & Amy overcomed their misunderstanding and became good friends huh?

Yeah I heard after ATV's "The Good Old Days" the two got into a quarrel and refused to work together again. Then for some odd reason they worked on "Fated Love" and a few years later... "Love in a Miracle" I guess it was just paparazzi gossip. I'm sure we all heard strange things about celebrities that were not true.

I just finished watching Forty Something (starred Amy and Adam Cheng). It was so funny. I like Amy to end up with Bowie Lam more in that series. Does anyone seen it yet?

yeah! definitely agree that Amy should be with Kenneth more in Fate of the Clairvoyant. He is so cute when he jumped right down the ocean to save her. awww.... However, I gues because that series was in 1990s and people like husband, wife and their childrens to be together.

I've heard she act first, then sing, her career highlight was when she signed a contract with CBS sony record. I've also heard that she retired now... hope it is not true...

If I remember correctly, Amy Chan’s singing career started off quite early. She participated in Asian Song Contest held in Canada? representing Hong Kong in 1979. She was a teenager back then. I heard that she can play piano pretty well. I don’t know when her acting career started off, probably at the same time.
