List/ranking of Hero's age at the end of novel

Well, Linghu Chong was 26 when he met Yingying, and three years later he married her, so he was 29/30 at the end of the novel.

I can't remember how old SPT was by the end of the novel. He seemed to be still quite young.

I think ZWJ is around 24-25 at the end of the novel.
GJ was 20.

DY is about 22.
XZ is about 26.
WXB is about 26.

So, it seems the youngest is either Guo Jing or Shi Potian.

Nah Wei Xiaobao is definitely the youngest. I think SolidSnake made a mistake. At the end of DOMD, people still refered to Wei Xiaobao as a "boy" (although he did fathered 3 children already).

WXB could be the youngest. He might not even had the slightest trace of a beard, otherwise people would notice he was a fake eunuch

At the start of the novel, WXB is mentioned to be 15~16. When he first hide himself in an island with his wives (excluding his mother), he wasted a total of 10 years, as mentioned by Kangxi when they chatted later. Thus making him, by the end of novel to be likely 26.

At the start, he was about 12 or 13 max. JY didn't specify the age but he said that the boy was about 12 or 13.

He spent only a few months on that island. Can you believe WXB spending 10 years in some remote place not doing anything much ? His children were still babies when they left the island. At the end of the novel he was probably 19, as before he went to the island, it was said somewhere that he and Kangxi were both 18. He was definitely not 20 yet, as when he finished the negotiation with the Russians, Kangxi told him that it was hard for the emperor to promote him to "king" (wang ?) status as he looked like a monkey (obviously a joke), but maybe after he turned 20, he might look a bit like a king.

JY did not mention the exact age, but he did mention that the boy is not older than 15. I'm taking assumption that he is about that age.

Now, about the time he spent on the island, that's confusing. Were I remembering other events on JY books? I thought I remember Kang Xi said that WXB does not change much for their 10 years parting and still look young? Could someone check the book about the conversation and clarify this?

Uh, it is very confusing really.

When he appeared in the novel, he was about 12. He spent a year at the palace as eunuch. He then had many adventures, including a trip to Russia which took him about a year.

He spent a few years on the island (not a few months, but no ten years either) where his children were born. When they left the island, the children could not have been older than 3 years.

But the strange thing is: a lot of things happened in the novel, and to the reader it really seems like an awful long period of time. However, at the end of the novel, Wei Xiaobao was still a teenager and doesn't seem to have grown that much.



So I think he was probably 17 or 18???

15 or 16 I guess, when he went to Yangzhou as an official.

I'm not sure, it's not really clear in the novel.
